A surgeon at St Mark’s National Bowel Hospital has been fitted with an exoskeleton designed to help reduce strain and combat muscular fatigue during long hours in the operating theatre.
Mr Kapil Sahnan, a colorectal surgeon, was the first to wear the device during a seven-hour procedure.
The exoskeleton suit is worn over scrubs and designed to support the arms and shoulders when surgeons are operating for prolonged periods of time.
